# Shopify Connection for Galleries

## Your Shopify Store, Now in Sync with Kovett

List it once, and let it show up everywhere it needs to.

For galleries, keeping a Shopify store and a Kovett collection in sync used to mean updating both, every time. New piece goes up, you list it twice. Price changes, you edit it twice. Something sells, you cross your fingers you remembered to update everywhere. That's time you'd rather spend with collectors, not spreadsheets.

With the Shopify connection, you list it once. New pieces, price updates, and sales all flow straight into your Kovett collection automatically. Your collectors always see accurate, current information, and you get that time back.

## Setting it up

### Start the connection in Kovett

* Go to My Dashboard > Auto Sync > Shopify > Connect. Copy the webhook URL shown there.

### Create four webhooks in Shopify

A webhook sends data to Kovett securely. The do not allow Kovett to change data on Shopify.

* In a new tab, open your store's [Shopify admin](https://admin.shopify.com/). Go to Settings > Notifications > Create Webhook. You'll create four separate webhooks, one for each of these events:

1. Product creation
2. Product update
3. Product deletion
4. Order payment (Tells Kovett the work was sold, optional)

* For each one: leave the format as JSON, paste in the Kovett webhook URL you copied, set the Webhook API Version to the latest version, and save.

### Copy your signing secret

* On the same Shopify notifications page, find the secret key listed under "Your webhooks will be signed with."

### Finish connecting in Kovett

* Back in Kovett, enter your Shopify store domain and paste in the webhook signing secret. Click Connect Store.

### Test the connection

* In Shopify, find a piece of art and make a small change, like adjusting the price by a cent. That update will trigger a sync, and the piece will show up in your Kovett collection. Check that the details look right, then change it back once you're satisfied it's working.
