Big Brother is You

This is a very special piece that I had the pleasure of helping to create!… It is a collaboration between Oregon neon artist, Rick Zar (older brother of LA painter Chet Zar)… The concept and neon are Rick’s, and the design and paint job are mine!… Another fellow built the sign can. Rick’s initial concept was to make a neon sign that said “Big Brother is Watching You”, but the “Watching” flickers off to read “Big Brother is You”!… A clear statement that we are the “Big Brother” we fear, simply by our willful participation in it. I am primarily a solo artist… but I have to admit that the pieces that I have done in collaboration have been the best!
